How I Found Time To Scrapbook Again

Thanks to Stampin ‘Up! for sending me these beautiful supplies so that I could share this post with you.

I was obsessed with scrapbooking. My oldest daughter has some great scrapbooks documenting every moment of her life. My youngest child? I don’t even think I have pictures of him printed. As life became more hectic, I gave up scrapbooking completely. My poor youngest children have nothing.

But my husband and I had a great vacation in Boston last year. It was such a memorable journey that I really wanted to document it and be able to look at our photos together. So I decided to try Project Life’s scrapbooking method. Boys, game changer!

My travel album came together like this quickly because I didn’t have to spend a lot of time trying to coordinate paper and embellishments or cut, paste and cut out. Simply slide your photos into the sleeve pockets, then slide the pre-made cards into the remaining spots!

I also like that my photos aren’t glued to anything, so if you ever want to get them out it’s easy.

But do you want to know the real reason why I enjoyed creating an album with Project Life? I did almost everything in the car. IN THE CAR! As I wait in endless lines of pick-ups, I grab a couple of page savers and start flipping through the papers and instead of sitting there wondering why my kids walk so slowlywhen they see me waiting for them, I take out an album! It works like this as a scrapbook in the car because I didn’t need scissors or paper cutters or glue or a bunch of messy things. Just the cards, my photos and pocket pages.

It’s pretty much the best thing ever.

It took a while to get used to. It was a bit like a puzzle trying to figure out how to put certain images together and which pocket pages would work for which images, but once I got the hang of it, this album came together at record speed.

I thought it would be fun to customize my album cover, so I cut some gold vinyl with my Silhouette machine and glued it to the cover.

It adds just the right amount of bling.

Next, it’s time to work on some children’s books. Maybe my younger children will get scrapbooks after all!

So have you tried Project Life’s scrapbooking method? What did you think?
