Cycling, Remodeling & New Quilting Designs Released

Posted on

I haven’t worked much on new quilting designs lately, and I’ve been quiet for several reasons. First was a week-long vacation. Hubby and I participated in a 7 day bicycle ride across South Dakota called RASDAK.

Rasdak 2016 PosterThis was the first time we did something like this, so neither of us actually rode the entire 525 miles, but he did ride about 360 miles and I did about 210. Every night we would camp in a different town with the other 140 or so riders, and get to learn some of the culture and history of the area.

It was a great experience and one we hope to get to do again sometime.

I’ve also been in the middle of a kitchen remodel. Sheet rocking and taping a doorway, restoring the cabinet finish, painting, moving things around – you get the idea. Today the new countertops and sink are being installed, tomorrow the flooring guy comes – no more CARPET in the kitchen! Then new appliances will be installed – I’m really looking forward to the french-door refrigerator with ice-maker. When we first moved to this town 13 years ago, we couldn’t find a house we liked. So we bought a small older home with the intent to rent it out when we found an acreage. And we purposely bought basic, inexpensive appliances to use in the rental house. Somehow we decided not to rent that house, sold it, and kept the cheap appliances for about 12 more years than we planned to! It’s time for an upgrade.

Kitchen in Progress

No stove, no fridge, no doors – oh my!

So while I haven’t worked much on new quilting designs (although I have managed to fit in a few hours a day of longarm quilting), the fabulous Jessica of Digi-Tech Designs was busy formatting several more of my patterns. There is now a simplified version of my Star Swirl pantograph, and it’s also available as a border (with corner), frame and even a set (click the image below to see all the designs I have available).

I also have a Wandering Feather pattern that can be used in a block, or as an overall pantograph. I love quilting feathers, how about you?

Remember that any new patterns Digi-Tech releases are on sale for the first 10 days or so, so don’t delay if you want to save 50% on my new designs!

In the coming weeks, there are more new designs in the works, some ‘after’ photos of the kitchen to share, and a new outdoor adventure that does NOT include my bicycle. Stay tuned for this crazy new thing I’m going to try soon…
