A Different Type of ‘Patchwork’

Posted on

Like many of you, quilting is not the only creative outlet I enjoy. Over time, I’ve done all KINDS of artistic or crafty things – drawing, painting, macrame, beaded flowers, knitting, crochet, etc., etc. Here is one many of you may not have heard of – Pysanky or Ukranian Easter Eggs. I actually did these about 35 years ago, but I still enjoy taking them out and looking at them at Easter time.

Can you see the patchwork-type patterns in some of them? If you’d like to try making your own, here is one book that you may find useful: Ukrainian Easter Eggs and How We Make Them

Happy Easter to all who celebrate it, and Happy Spring to the rest of you!
